Let me introduce myself as your Nutritionist and Coach, whose passion for food has been inspired by my Spanish roots where preparing and eating fresh food in the company of family and friends is the norm. I grew up with the concept that food is fun as we could not exist without it. We need it to survive but it is also at the centre of our social lives.
My passion for food and to improve the way we feel took me to study Anatomy and Physiology in order to understand the mechanics of the human body. However, as the body does not exist on its own I had the urge to explore the connections between mind, body and spirit so my desire to integrate these aspects led me to learn Yoga and Meditation. I qualified as a Holistic Therapist from St. Mary’s College University (Twickenham, 2002).
I took my studies further (Diploma in Dietetics. Dietary Educator Certificate; Centre for Nutrition Education & Lifestyle Management. December 2008) as I became even more fascinated by the complex ways in which our body processes food; how this affects us on a chemical level and as a result, I began to understand how the food we eat affects our thoughts, behavior and mood. It alters our hormones, skin, blood etc. In a nutshell, our day-to-day lives.
Following that, I graduated as a Bachelor of Science – BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy, with a degree from The University of Westminster (London, 2010).
I continued with my professional development working at my Clinics applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice provided by the Institute For Functional Medicine (USA).
I use Body and Mind Nutritional therapy as a valuable technique, but not in isolation, and where possible always supported by good science.
You can trust my advice to always be honest, science-based and relevant to your case. My profession is my vocation.
Food is fun. We could not exist without it. We need it to survive but it is also at the centre of our social lives so make it enjoyable, be creative when cooking and remember… the choices we make will affect our wellbeing for many years to come therefore my message to you is simple…
YOU have the power to improve the way you feel, think and behave by controlling what you put on your plate…so choose wisely!
And as life is not just all about work but also play, in my spare time I love cooking and entertaining family and friends; I love the Arts in general: Cinema, Music, Museums, Fashion, Interior Design, Architecture; Reading; Traveling and learning from different cultures; Gardening; Yoga and Meditation disciplines that I practice on a daily basis; Dancing and hopefully one day, I will have the time to take piano and painting lessons!
